[IEEE New Briefs] 2 May – The IEEE Vietnam Section was officially inaugurated as a part of Region 10 at the Hanoi University of Technology on 6 March.
The event was held in conjunction with the 5th International Conference on Research, Innovation and Vision for the Future (RIVF 2007) and was attended by approximately 50 IEEE members and RIVF delegates. Region 10 Director professor Janina Mazierska spoke at the inauguration and outlined the vision for the Vietnam Section for the next 10 years which includes a membership of 10,000 including 10 student branches, 10 Women in Engineering affinity groups, five societies and five GOLD groups.
