Call for FDSE 2016 Special Track Proposals

The FDSE 2016 Organizing Committee invites proposals for the Special Tracks to be held on November 23-25, 2016 in parallel to the main track of the FDSE conference. The main goal of the FDSE 2016 special tracks is to stimulate and facilitate an active exchange, interaction, and comparison of approaches, methods, and ideas about specific (both theoretical and applicative) topics in the general area of Data & Security Science.

Special Tracks should be organized to facilitate informal discussion and active engagement among attendees. Members from all areas of the Data & Security Science community are invited to submit proposals for review. Special Tracks on new emerging topics or specific relevant aspects of broader topics are particularly encouraged. Special Tracks can vary in length, but most will be one full day in duration. The Special Track organizers and attendees must register and are permitted to join the main FDSE conference.

Requirements for Submissions

To propose a Special Track in FDSE 2016, you are required to submit a complete proposal containing the following information:

  • The title of the Special Track;
  • One-page description of the technical issues that the workshop will address;
  • The statements:
      • How is the Special Track relevant to, and complementary with, the main conference themes?
      • Why is the Special Track of particular significance at this time?
  • The names, affiliations, postal address, phone and fax numbers, and e-mail addresses of the Special Track organizer(s) (It is expected that organizers will be recognized experts in the related fields, and the organizing committee should include individuals from multiple institutions);

  • The expected number of attendees (estimating minimum and maximum values);
  • Description of paper review process and acceptance standards;
  • A draft Special Track call for papers;
  • The expected date and duration of the Special Track;
All proposals should be submitted by electronic mail to the FDSE Conference Organisation Office (fdse@cse.hcmut.edu.vn), in plain ASCII text, no later than February 15, 2016.
Proposers will be notified of the committee's decision no later than February 28, 2016.
The selection of the Special Track to be included in the final FDSE program will be based upon multiple factors, including: the scientific / technical interest of the topics, the quality of the proposal, balance and distinctness of Special Track topics, and the capacity of the whole conference program.
