Advanced Data Communications, Analysis and Applications
SCOPE and MOTIVATION
This special session aims at serving as an international forum for experts from academia, industry, and government to exchange ideas and results on research and development, and to promote new research directions on current and future technologies for data communications, analysis and applications including networking technologies, services, architectures, protocols, data acquisition and analysis from computer and mobile networks. Authors are invited to submit papers presenting novel technical studies, practical software/prototypes, test-beds, as well as broader position and vision papers in technologies for data communications, acquisition, analysis and applications. In light of this trend, the this Special Track solicits original research papers on topics including, but not limited to:
- Cellular systems, 2G/2.5G/3G/4G/5G, LTE, WiMAX, WMAN and beyond
- Wireless network virtualization
- Wireless and mobile networks
- Social wireless networks
- Pervasive and wearable computing
- Ad hoc, Mesh and Delay tolerant wireless networks
- Vehicular networks
- Intelligent Transportation Systems
- Internet of things
- Cloud computing
- M2M communications for smart city
- Software-defined networks (SDN)
- Network function virtualization (NFV)
- Content-centric networks
- Network optimization
- Network security
- Disaster Information Systems
- Emergency Network Systems
- Resilient Network Systems
- Data Mining
- Big data analysis on network traffic
- Traffic analysis, traffic engineering for QoS/QoE and fault-tolerance
- Gamification theory on network design network design and operation model
- Power management and energy conservation techniques
- Testbeds and deployment
- Standardization activities of emerging network technologies
The relevant of the Special Track and its complementary with the main conference themes
Topics in "Future Data and Security Engineering" in FDSE 2016 would be greatly enriched if there is a forum to discuss contemporary issues not only on data processing or data acquisition but also on data communications. As described, this Special Track is a relevant venue for experts from academia, industry, and government to exchange ideas and the cutting-edge research results in data communications, acqusition, analysis and applications. The topics presented in this Special Track includes but not limited to networking technologies, services, architectures, protocols, data acquisition and analysis from computer and mobile networks, data science and engineering such as data mining, network traffic analysis, and so on. In addition to data engineering themes in FDSE 2016, this Special Track focuses more on data science and technologies for improving the network service qualities. The networking and communications themes in this Track would be the great complementary with the main conference themes.

SUBMISSION and REVIEWING PROCESS
Authors are invited to electronically (PDF) submit full papers in English, in accordance with LNCS format (http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html). The length of submitted papers should not exceed 20 pages. Authors are invited to submit their papers at the EasyChair web site using the following URL: https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=fdse2016. Detailed instructions are shown at the EasyChair submission page and when submitting, please make a note that the paper is submitted for “Advanced Data Communications, Analysis and Applications" Special track.
Each paper will be blindly reviewed by 3 (three) reviewers from TPC or externally invited reviewers. The acceptance will be made in accordance with the recommendations from reviewers. If there is a conflict from the reviewers' recommendations, TPC chairs of the Special Track will decide whether the paper is accepted or rejected.
All accepted and presented papers will be published by Springer Verlag in a volume of the Lecture Notes in Computer Science series (LNCS) and are indexed by major systems such as DBLP, Scopus,...
Selected papers, after further revision and extension, will be considered for publication in a special issue of the Transactions on Large Scale Data and Knowledge Centered Systems (TLDKS), ISSN: 1869-1994, also with Springer Verlag.
