laboratories with 200 Intel PCs, supporting
programming and soft-ware related work associated
with first years undergraduate courses

on different platforms such as Unix, Linux,
Oracle, for final year undergraduate and
master program students doing their final
projects
Two computer
architecture and digital circuit laboratories,
supporting experimental work for the courses
Computer Architecture and Organization,
Digital System Design, and Micro-Processing
and Computing.
A
chip design laboratory with 30 single Pentium-based
PCs, 10 SMP-CPU computers, FPGA read/write
devices, and specialized software tools.
A fund valued at 6.9 billions VND (about
$420,000) has been approved for developing
this laboratory to become an advanced one
for chip design
An embedded
system laboratory with 10 high-tech instrument
sets for studying and developing embedded
systems running on Linux. The laboratory
is to serve staff and students doing research
on embedded systems to be applied to industry
and the Internet.
Two powerful
clustering systems, supporting research
activities in parallel program-ming, debugging,
monitoring, parallel tools building, high
performnance computing. The systems consist
of 4 or 8 nodes connected by reliable high
speed Ethernet infra-structures. Both of
them run on RedHat Linux Operating System.
The
whole Intranet/Internet computer network of the
Faculty consists of about 500 Pentium-based PCs,
7 Sun computers, 8 powerful HP, Compaq, Dell,
and Sun servers, and linked via AIT backbone (155Mbps)
using optical cables. It can run on different
platforms like Unix, Linux, and Windows. All students
have email account and permission to access the
Internet.
The
Faculty also has its own library of over 2000
items specialized in Computer Science and Engineering,
regularly updated and supplemented, and 2 reading
rooms for students and staff. Everybody can look
for a favorite books, documents by the library
web site at http://www.it-lib.hcmut.edu.vn,
as well as borrow and give back via the web site.
